Nathan Bartley was born in Cambridge, Ontario. He graduated with an honours BA in fine arts at the University Of Guelph in 1995. From there he travelled extensively, living in Japan, India, the Yukon, and Taiwan until the age of thirty. It was at that time he began to focus on painting. Moving to Vancouver B.C., he began the development of his personal visual language. Some time later, he re-located to Nelson, B.C. where he continued to develop his art, having many shows and evolving in his artistic practice. Nathan now lives and works in Montreal.
